Pirates For a Day #14

Somewhat annual rafting trip
Saturday August 6th 2011

2011 Particiapnts

Come one come all to a day of fun in the sun. Rafting down a gentle river.....Ha!..This is going to be a day of crazy water fights, king of the raft, bikini's & beer drinking (bikini's & beer drinking is strictly optional).

We will be using 6 man rafts with 5 to 6 people with an Ice chest in each raft.

We will be meeting at Rivers End Park (Rafting End Point) and taking the bus up to the Launch site. We'll want everybody there by 9:30am to arrange ice chests and get gear together so that we can board the bus to the raft shop by 10am.

Friends and family are welcome. Parents use discretion when bringing kids. Aside from the inherent danger of rafting, there will be a lot of rough housing and drinking going on. There are also sometimes things seen on the river best not viewed by young eyes.... nuff said.

For the most part the river is calm. It's rated at class 1, the lowest classification. On the whole trip, I there is only one class 2 rapid (singular). For those who like, good amount of time is spent swimming around keeping cool.

When you say?

$30 per person includes raft rental, raft insurance and shuttle ride to the shop in the morning. Also plan on a $5 parking fee at Goethe park.
Please bring cash if you have not paid in advance.

Other that snacks, we will not be eating on the river, so eat a good breakfast on the way up or bing snacks to eat along the way.

We'll BBQ at Goethe Park at the end of the ride.
You supply the meat, and we'll provide the hot BBQ and tools.
